The vision of Firm Foundation Trust is to develop vital Biblical resources for the Turkish speaking church. This will help Bible teachers, church leaders and other believers to study the Bible more deeply. These resources should assist the teaching of the Christian faith more effectively and establish the church on a firm foundation for the next generation.

The writings of the New Testament and the history of the early church are full of place names whose locations can be found in Turkey today. The land in which the New Testament churches of Ephesus, Pergamum and Laodicea, to name but a few, and the churches in the Roman provinces of Galatia, Cappadocia and others, were all situated in what today is Turkey. For many centuries the church grew and expanded throughout this part of the world and spread from there into Europe, Asia and Africa.

However, due to many diverse factors over the years the number of Christians in Turkey today is very small. Ancient orthodox denominations have been present in Turkey for centuries but have declined dramatically. The Protestant evangelical church had virtually disappeared. However, since the 1960s it has begun to slowly grow again, though it is still in its first generation. Consequently the Turkish church today has few Biblical resources in the Turkish language.

“Turkey’s slowly growing evangelical church has very limited resources for serious Bible study. The first Turkish volumes from the excellent Bible Speaks Today commentary series have been wonderful additions and are being eagerly used by Turkish believers involved in biblical teaching training as well as by local pastors. I highly recommend them. Further volumes will be of great value and warmly welcomed as an investment in the spiritual future of the churches in this country.”
